Nikon has the worst repair service.
I own a D3100. I attached a third-party, wide-angle lens to my standard 18-55MM lens and took the pictures that you see below.
After these shots, I removed the wide-angle lens and began shooting with the regular 18-55mm lens. And the manual and auto-focus would no longer worked. So I took it into Nikon, located there on Wilshire Boulevard near San Vicente and Beverly Hills. Check out how my receipt read:
ADJ AUTO FOCUS OPERATION
CKD
EXPOSURE (Presumably, the CKD means "Checked Exposure." But there is
no confirmation or result of that inspection. It doesn't say "Okay" or
"Fine" or "Working.")
CKD FLASH OPERATION
CKD
COMMUNICATION
CLN
CCD (Can I presume that CLN means cleaned? And if so, what does CCD
mean? With this "Material Description" I cannot know what repairs, if
any, were done to my camera for which I paid a hundred dollars.)
GENERAL
CHECK & CLEAN (And then I am not sure if "General Check &
Clean" means that the items listed above are part of the "General Check
& Clean" process or if the "General Check & Clean" is a separate
procedure.)
